For those unfamiliar with the band, Razorwire were formed at the end of 1997 and are based in the lovely city / dump Stoke On Trent, England. They have released numerous demos and an album that have received some great reviews and have helped establish the band on the underground UK metal circuit.

The band topped the peoplesound.com metal chart in 2001 with some of their earlier material for 10 weeks in a row, and remain in the editor’s “top ten metal chart”. They have toured almost continuously since forming, and have played all over the UK from small pubs to larger venues building up an ever-increasing fan base. The bands reputation also earned them appearances at numerous underground festivals including the UXFEST (2000 & 2001). The band have been touring excessively to promote the album and have announced dates in GERMANY, BELGIUM and HOLLAND as well as the UK.

The bands album launch party became an all day festival called GODLESS 2003. Held on Saturday 1st March, seventeen bands played on two stages (the 2nd stage sponsored by TOTALROCK radio). Razorwire headlined the main stage to an audience of around 300 and went down a storm. At this point the album was only available at gigs and via the internet. After selling over 1000 copies themselves, a distribution deal with PRO-SONIC was signed and the album is currently available in all UK Virgin Megastores amongst other retail outlets.

Kerrang! magazine printed reviews of a couple of compilation albums on which Razorwire were featured, and the band received a very positive response on both occasions. Later, Kerrang! Awarded their debut “League..” KKKK (out of 5).

Rhythm guitarist Dan Peach is also the founder of the Psychophonic label, and DJ’s in the Staffs area. Check out www.danpeach.co.uk

Jettison (from the new album) is featured on the March 2003 Powerplay CD.

Razorwire also had the song “Lose My Head” featured on the December 2001 Metal Hammer CD alongside Slipknot, Machine Head, Rob Zombie and Adema to name but a few

The band has since gone on to receive excellent reviews from many magazines including Metal Hammer, Rock Sound and Powerplay, and have received plenty of airplay from Totalrock radio and others. They are currently looking for a recording deal for their next album.
