Technical melodic power metal with a dark bite is what we get served by Belgian five-some Soulsteeler. After a short middle age clavier great heavy guitars with heavy fire-spitting riffs and finger-licking solo’s surround you together with mega-rolling and thundering drums. The clean vocals are very passionate and strong, although there’s a limited range. A bit more variation to higher reasons would not be out of place. The bass is rich and comes out good in the mix, which makes it actual part of the sound. The keys bring in some bombastic and symphonic feel. The songs are attractive and have all a driving force. The sound has got a body and soul with a very catchy, powerful still gloomy effect. With Soulsteeler, Belgium has got a new talented band on the power metal firmament.
