| Okay, this album came out on ProgRock Records, but dont expect a soft album here. Daniel Jakubovic is a multitalented musician, producer, singer, songwriter, guitarist, drummer and bass player. He started taking guitar lessons at the age of 10 and he also studied music theory with his father, a famous saxophone player and professional musician. Daniels early influences included Metallica, Dream Theater and Yes. When he went to America Daniel was fortunate to meet one of his musical heroes, Jordan Rudess, the virtuoso keyboardist from Dream Theater. Jordan was so impressed by this young musician that he asked him to play on his solo-album Rhythym Of Time which Daniel did of course. And now heres Daniels first solo-album, on which also Jordan Rudess plays his part and also Daniels father can be heard with the tenor saxophone. Losing Time is pretty diverse and I cant give one song that sounded bad or boring. Daniel is a pretty good hardrock-vocalist and when he touches the leadguitar you can hear it clearly, this is indeed a talented musician. Besides the progrock-elements on this album you hear a lot of hardrock, some jazzy-tunes and also some progmetal. I dont listen to this music a lot but I must say I was pretty impressed by it. So I would say this album could appeal to progmetal-fans but also melodic hardrock-fans should dig this, and progrock-fans that dont mind some heavy tunes can appreciate it as well. And if you go nuts on guitarmusic, well, theres plenty of that as well on this album. For a debutalbum this is a very impressive piece of work so just check out the site from ProgRock Records and try to get a hold of this record. | ||||
